Storyline:
Moktirah of the Wyrmwood

Over in Wyrmwood, Conall and Selina were still trying to figure out how they want to structure this new pack. Selina was unwilling to entirely give up the ways of her people and Conall was struggling to alter traditions dating back to time before remembering for her sake. Conall introduced Selina to the pack guides ... spirits of long departed elders. While the elders seemed pleased with Conall’s choice of mate, Selina was very upset at their presence, and did not calm until well after they departed.

On the far eastern side of the Wyrmwood, Valo returned to his people and immediately met with his brother, Luthor. Those near enough were surprised to hear the brothers shouting. They would have been more surprised to learn that Valo proposed that they, all of them, become Moktirahs and join Conall and Selina’s pack. The brothers argued long into the night. Valo thought that this was the perfect solution. The people were merely surviving, not thriving. All it would take was one harsh winter, or drought or a sizable orc attack to wipe them out completely. As Moktirahs, they could live, thrive, and build a life for themselves and future generations. It was only by chance that any of them managed to survive that initial attack, and despite Luthor’s best efforts, it seemed that he only delayed the inevitable. Valo argued that it was unnatural for them to live in fear and to hide within the forest. If they joined with Conall, they would become people of the forest instead of refugees. Luthor countered that they could travel west, to Jinan; perhaps the way would not be barred by orcs. Valo asked his brother if he really wanted all memory of Wedia to fade in only a few generations. Did Luthor want to see the people drift apart and no longer be a part of each other’s lives? And even that was assuming that they would survive the journey. Finally Luthor ordered his brother to leave him, and to speak none of this to anyone else. He needed some time to think.
