History

Love History. Always have. As a child, History was a collection of wonderful, fascinating stories, and they were all real! What can be better than that? What's not to like? Honestly, that is still History's appeal, but now I also have an appreciation for how the world I live in was shaped by what came before. One real regret is that I will not be around to see the way the events that have occured in my lifetime will shape the future.

But I digress ...

I've been watching the Tudors on Showtime, which awakened my interest in Henry VIII and all things Tudor.

Unemployment - What happened

Okay, so I lost my job back in June of 2009. Yes, it sucks. Especially because for once in my life, I didn't do anything to fuck it up.

No one has ever had a problem with my work. I always performed above expectations. My problem was always other people. People who I considered to be too stupid to live, much less to work with. They were never as smart as I was, they got in the way, they never understood anything, and I could never be bothered to explain it to them.

Mafia Wars

I finally quit Mafia Wars under both of my IDs. The problem with the game is that it requires you to add friends in order to advance in the game. Like an idiot I ran around adding and recruiting friends until I had at least 500 for each ID. I thought that would keep me from getting snuffed all the time, but it didn't. Then I got this vision of myself as a rat pushing a lever and getting a piece of cheese. I click the button and I get a prize. Even so, it took me another couple of weeks before I finally said enough.

Complaining about something that's free

Back Story - Since my unemployment, I spend a lot of time playing games on Facebook. These are free games. The details vary, but basically you perform tasks and are rewarded with coins and experience points, with which you can purchase decorations or special items for the game. The games also offer "premium" content, which can be purchased for real cash.

=====================================

Occasionally, one of the games I play has a glitch. Since they are constantly upgrading the games and offering new content, glitches are to be expected.

Follow Me

Follow Me

Okay, this one was done for a more mature audience. One might say that this one is for the boys, but I know plenty of women who might follow her too. This one is called Follow Me. It features a scantily clad temptress beconing the viewer to follow her who knows where. The hardest part of this one was smoothing out the bizarre angles in the hair. The most fun part was the background.

Pink Gypsy

Pink Gypsy

For a few years now I have been thinking about creating a series of images based on color. The idea was to take a model, choose textures, makeup, hair, dress, props, etc., that all fit into a single, tone on tone, color theme. Pink Gypsy is the first of those images. Now, some people might look at it and think that Peptobismal threw-up all over their screen, but those of us who have a hidden girly streak (like me) will appreciate that it's Pink!!!

Another Vampire

Risen

There is a new image in the store. Risen is the second lady vampire image I've put up on the last two weeks. This one is more of the traditional, historic gothic style vampire. Something about her face and the smile reminds me of Abby on NCIS. Or maybe it's the hair. Didn't think I'd like NCIS, but turns out I love it! Anyway, this lady vampire is dressed all in blood red and black, and she's just Risen from the tomb. You can see the open crypt doors behind her.

As always, if you like the image, go and buy a mug or something with Risen on it.

Elfin Retreat

Elfin Retreat

Anyone who enjoys fairytales ought to like this picture. This was created with a variety of toys I purchased from the internet, then brought into Photoshop to create what you see here. Check out the store to see two other variations on the Elfin Retreat design.

If you like this image, you can purchase clothing and decorative items featuring it at the Elfin Retreat Store.

Wood Fairy!

Wood Fairy

There's a new image in the gallery and in the store. She's a Wood Fairy, and I hope you like her. You'll find her in the New Store Images Gallery. Registered users can make comments on the image. And anyone who likes the image can get prints, cards, shirts, and more featuring the Wood Fairy in the Sralos.com store!

Bare Minerals

Everyone has seen the informercials for Bare Minerals. I ordered it about 5 years ago, and I've been using it ever since. Over the years I've strayed from time to time, trying out other kinds of makeup, or drugstore imitations, but I always come back. Other types of makeup just do not work the way Bare Minerals does. I've tried them all, trust me. Nothing is better than BM.
