Complaining about something that's free
Back Story - Since my unemployment, I spend a lot of time playing games on Facebook. These are free games. The details vary, but basically you perform tasks and are rewarded with coins and experience points, with which you can purchase decorations or special items for the game. The games also offer "premium" content, which can be purchased for real cash.
=====================================
Occasionally, one of the games I play has a glitch. Since they are constantly upgrading the games and offering new content, glitches are to be expected. I usually wait to see if it will go away by itself. If it doesn't, I go and check the message boards to see if other people are experiencing the same glitch. As I scan the threads, I'm amazed at the amount of people who get really bent out of shape over something that is free.
Most of the complaints are aimed at the premium content. Accusations that all the cool stuff costs real money are always popular. The people who develop these games have to be paid. The way I see it, the people who buy premium content are paying for me to play for free. Also, there are enough things that can be purchased with game coins to keep me satisfied with the game. True, it can be frustrating when there are several upgrades in a row and none of them have anything for the free players. But to vent your spleen on a board at people who are providing you with free entertainment ... that's going a bit too far. A reasonably worded request for more content for free players is fine. Emphasis on the word "reasonably." Beyond that, leave. Stop playing. That's your option.
